The Pittsburgh Vintage Festival of Speed
July 10th 18th, 2004

The Vintage Sports Car Club of America in conjunction with the Pittsburgh
Vintage Grand Prix Association invites you to the inaugural running of the
Pittsburgh Vintage Festival of Speed.

The week-long festivities leading up to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix
have been expanded to include an additional weekend of vintage racing at
the BeaveRun Motor Sports Complex on Saturday, July 10th and Sunday, July
11th. During the week, you can partake in other festival events, including
black tie dinners, rallies and car shows, or you can tour the lovely hills
and forests of the surrounding area. For those wishing to stay the week
and enjoy the many local points of interest, museums and fine dining in the
Pittsburgh area, we are working with local motels to provide accommodation
packages. The Pittsburgh Vintage Festival of Speed will conclude with the
22nd running of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix in Schenley Park on
Saturday, July 17th and Sunday, July 18th.

BeaveRun

The races at the BeaveRun Motor Sports Complex in Wampum, PA will include a
total of five groups: Group 1, BMW, will be under the control of the local
BMW club; Group 2, VSCCA/VARAC eligible cars with a Lime Rock lap time
greater than 1:16; Group 3, VSCCA/VARAC eligible cars with a Lime Rock lap
time faster than 1:16; Group 4, Vintage Pre-1973 under 2.5 liters; and
Group 5, Vintage Pre-1973 over 2.5 liters. Expect each group to average
more than two hours of track time for the weekend. At the end of this
event, secure provisions will be made for those who wish to leave their
cars and/or trailers in the Pittsburgh vicinity for the following weekends
activities at Schenley Park.

Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix

Arguably one of the finest vintage events anywhere in the world, the
Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix offers everything a vintage car buff could
want. The delightful setting is beautiful Schenley Park, where vintage
cars race on streets lined with curbs and stone walls, while fans cheer
from the surrounding hillsides. For those who prefer static displays of
cars to dicing across Panther Hollow bridge, one of the largest car shows
in the East is spread out over the golf course surrounding the northern
section of the race course. This section, with its panoramic views, is one
of the most enjoyable viewing areas and allows one to display ones car to
the more than one hundred thousand spectators who make their way through
the park over the weekend. The delightful paddock on a tree-lined
cul-de-sac provides easy access for the spectators, while free lunches for
drivers and crew and a reception on Friday add the finishing touches to
make this the perfect vintage venue.

As in previous years, the majority of the race groups are for VSCCA
eligible cars only, although there are two groups for those with non-VSCCA
eligible cars. The first, Group 4, is for under 2.2 liter production cars
built between 1960-64; while the second, Group 8, is for any year Mini
Cooper, (MINI-Cooper is the 2004 Marque of the Year). Entrants in the
Pre-War Group and the Under 1-liter Group derive a special benefit; Pre-War
and H-modified entries are free if the driver of the car has another car
entered in one of the other groups.

Entries received by May 3, 2004 will be included in the official race
program, which goes to the printer on May 7, 2004. You can get up-to-date
information and see who is in each group at the
<http://www.cloverleaf-auto.com/>www.cloverleaf-auto.com website; click on
the VSCCA/PVGP button and follow the links to the PVGP page. As always,
the proceeds from this event go to two very worthwhile charities, the
Autism Society of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny Valley School. Through your
efforts, we have raised over 1.6 million dollars for those who really need
your help.

Thanks for your interest and we hope to see you there!
