A buddy of mine had a Ginetta G4 with 1000 cc Cosworth and regularly used 
that sort of rpm. Really screaming for those days, but not as amazing as the 
longer stroke Twincams.  Of course with the 1000, his power band sort of 
started 
around 6000 rpm, and he used to swear at standing starts....
