By the early 60s, we were already into Alfas and they all came with
Pirelli Cinturato 367s or Michelin Xs -first 155R15 then 165R15. The
Pirellis were our preference because they were good in both wet and
dry, while the Michelins were diabolical in the wet but would last
twice as long as the Pirellis. I remember using up sets of Cinturatos
on my Alfa TI Sedan in less than 20K (hard!) miles but some people I
know got 80K out of the Michelins. We started racing on the Pirellis
in 65 and a set lasted a season.
