late friday i took delivery of an old h-production bugeye to be restored.
log book missing. it is an incredible time capsule right down to minilites
with original goodyear (rock hard) blue streaks on it. it was a medium
metallic blue with white markings and a white stripe down the middle of the
car. the present owner is the son of the last driver of the car. i was
told that prior to his father driving the car his aunt raced the car. he
want's the car restored to it's condition when his father drove the car.
not a bad job! next to no rust and almost evrything intact as last raced!
but he had a falling out withhis step mother and lost evry spare part , the
log book, and most , if not all of the photos and other supporting documents
(he believes she threw the stuff out in spite, engines, gear boxes, and what
was described as shelves of h/p bugeye spares to make you cry) . the
rollbar is stamped 37-012. is region #37 glen region? i already know 012
was the 12th issued log book. so this car has been around along time. i
have also been told that this car ran frequently up at the glen back in the
60's and 70's. no idea of car number though (at this point) . so the big
question is .....is the glen region #37? next is to contact their region
historian if i'm on the right path....btw, the car according to serial
number is a 1959, being around two hundred cars from my car's serial number.

chuck.
