thom,

i can feel your pain in the alleged perfect reproductions that do not fit
or are mis shaped. i frequently find "customer supplied" reproductions of
various rubber goods are a very poor fit. i personally chalk this up to
reproductions being made from new old stock parts that after 15-20-30-40
years have shrunken sitting in warehouses and on dealer shelves waiting to
be discovered by an enterprising enthusiast. both plastic and rubber
shrink and dry out(or harden if you choose) over time. many people find a
long sought original unused part and use it as a master to replicate from.
i have seen it over and over . the problem lies in it is already undersized
slightly and any variance in moulding new parts only magnifies the problem
of fit. i wish i could be of assistance in your quest. sorry i justthought
i'd throw in my experiences with reproduction rubber goods, with hopes that
others might benifit from my unfortunate experiences. btw? have you tried
"classe 356 in allentown pa.? i know they have a warehouse (3 stories high
with car sized freight elevator inside) full of porsche parts. possibly
they might have something good used in their inventory? hey it's just a
thought? any lead is a good lead to start networking from.

chuck.
(610)-437-7878 (redi strip in allentown pa. is owned or run by the fellow
who has classe 356) that may be of some help?....no personal
yadda-yadda-yadda!
