I had my first introduction to sports car racing at Connellsville in the early 60's. You had the likes of Bruce Jennings, Don Yenko, Hal Keck, M.R.J. Wylie, Dick Thompson, and the Group 44 boys. This race and Cumberland (MD) were the two jewels for the Steel Cities Region (Pittsburgh)of SCCA. I believe Cumberland was a National Race and Connellsville was a Regional. I heard a year or two ago that SCCA was going to revive it. A lot of good racing and memories there. Thor Larsen |
