ERICH - I've been driving a RHD Morgan on the street for 16 years and on the track for the last three. Occasionally a little difficult on the street, it's sometimes a b*tch trying to pass on a narrow country road (usually the terrified look on my wife's face tells me it's unsafe!) and you must practice your hook shot for those in-the-basket- toll booths. But I think it's a big advantage on the track where most tracks run clockwise and most turns are right-handers, really helps you to see lines and apexes. Don't know if it helps your lap times but it does help your confidence/comfort zone. Cheers, Craig Seibert 1968 Morgan +8 car no. 611 "Duff Morgan Racing" PS You'll master left-handed shifting in no time at all. -----Original Message----- From: owner-vintage-race@autox.team.net [mailto:owner-vintage-race@autox.team.net]On Behalf Of Erichreich@aol.com Sent: Friday, January 26, 2001 12:29 PM To: vintage-race@autox.team.net Subject: RHD Hello. I have never driven a RHD car before. I am considering buying a vintage racer, possibly a RHD example. My concern is making the transition from LHD to RHD under race conditions. Any thoughts/comments/experience? Thanks in advance. Erich. |
