As others have noted in other replies (John Rollins and David Whiteside).
These are not particularly difficult decisions. First of all, very few of
these cars are out there entering vintage races. When they do, the rule has
always been that they are welcome provided the owner can document that the
car ran in that configuration during the eligibility period of the vintage
group in question.
The real problems that exist in vintage racing are the cars that
regularly compete in vintage events with a variety of non-period performance
modifications. They are not hybrid BMC/Chevys but they are also not faithful
to a set of rules from the appropriate period.
