Brian:
True enough about changing the settings. You must enter correction factors
for the barometric pressure and humidity, which can impact the final
readings. I know as I installed and set up my engine builder's Superflow
800, and later his 900 dyno's.
Even so, we calibrated it properly and was able to measure an "honest" 196 HP
out of the twin cam. We might have gone a bit higher, but we were running it
late at night and didn't want to upset his neighbors (his shop is in a
semi-residential area). Besides, we were both more than happy to see 196
(200 was the goal). Maybe we were there within measurement error. And,
another important consideration is...Is the data repeatable. You need to
make several "pulls" and get consistent results...not just one run to some
maximum number and say ''that's it".
As they say out here on the left coast...there's HP, and there's CALIFORNIA
HP!!!
