Race Cars Appear on Monument Circle For WIBC

Indianapolis-- The "starting grid" will look a little different than usual
but the sounds will be familiar when race cars make their appearance on
Monument Circle on Thursday, September 14th. The cars will be there to boost
the Easley Vintage Grand Prix Benefiting the American Red Cross of Greater
Indianapolis.

The vintage race cars will include Phil Gumpert's Formula One Shadow; an
Allard J2X and a Jaguar XKE belonging to racer Scott Brown; single-seat
formula cars owned by Chuck Maranto, including a Formula Junior driven by
David Hobbs early in his career; Turner Woodard's Corvette Gran Sport and his
March Formula Atlantic; and Brett Johnson's Porsche 356 and Lotus.

One particularly noteworthy racecar to be displayed is an Elva driven by
Elvis Presley in "Viva Las Vegas." One of Treadway Racing's IRL cars also
will also be on display.

The racecars will be on the southwest quadrant of Monument Circle from 4 PM
to 6 PM, September 14th. The cars and their owners will appear in
cooperation with WIBC radio and Dave "The King" Wilson, an avid racing fan.
The Red Cross emergency response vehicle, "ERV" can also be seen.

The afternoon race car show is being held to promote the Easley Vintage Grand
Prix Benefiting the American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis, a vintage car
road race at Indianapolis Raceway Park, October 20-22. Ticket outlets will
be announced at a later date. All proceeds from the race will go to the
American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis.

The Easley Vintage Grand Prix event is being kicked off on Wednesday,
September 13 with an invitational "Formula One" wine tasting at the Easley
winery in downtown Indianapolis. Racecars will be on display from 4:30 PM to
7 PM and race drivers will answer questions about road racing and the
forthcoming Formula One race in Indianapolis.
