John: Contact John Jacobson at: JohnJacobson@mindspring.com. The PVGP
used to be limited to VSCCA eligible cars ( pre-war, approved pre 1959 under
/over 2 litre production, Form Jr. and sports racers.) Today the entry list
includes invited marques and cars at the discretion of the VSCCA race
chair...which often see post 1959 cars ...with some very fat, non-approved
tires, all sorts of engine mods, and, in my opinion, a semi-disregard for the
true spirit of vintage racing. I competed ( quite actively) at Pittsburgh
for 12 years..but now...it's not exactly my "cup of tea" anymore for a rare
and not so replaceable Arnolt-Bristol. The PVGP entry list is quite large in
the production groups, but they are currently looking for more prewar cars.
It's a wonderful event for the Pittsburgh community and a successful
non-profit fund raiser.
