Answer is that these brake upgrades would not be legal in VARAC, while the
aluminium front hubs probably would be. Our cut-off is 1961, and neither
the MGB nor the spitfire were around then...and our rules don't really
allow substitution of disc's and calipers from other cars, unless there is
some overwhelming reason to do so. Just to prove we aren't totally
logical, we do allow the stock disc brakes from late midgets on the early
drum brake cars.
'Course, who really cares what VARAC thinks? Our members often offer a
face of total amazement when reminded of certain rules ;)
