The VDCA Homecoming featuring the Gold Cup races at VIR June 9-11, 2000, is
shaping up nicely and may be oversubscribed in some groups, so get your
entries in early. The event is patterned on the old Lime Rock Vintage
Festival and is open to all cars that could have run at VIR until it closed
in 1974, even if they would not be otherwise be eligible for VDCA events.
D-Types, Porsche 906s and 908s, Bugattis, McLarens, Ferraris, Maseratis and a
host of 2 liter cars will all be there. Ed Hugus, the winner of the first
race at VIR, and Doc Wylie, the winner of the first sportsracer race will
attend along with lots of other prior winners and drivers.
VIR Alumni Drivers, or anyone with a car that ran at VIR, should contact us,
as special recognition for drivers and cars who ran between 1957 and 1974 is
planned for this gala reopening of the most beautiful track in America. Alex
