An example of Cold Air Vs Warm or hot air intake can be seen and read
about by clicking on the link to the right
http://www.thedynoshop.net/dynosheet.htm
Or by typing in the address. Written below is the info about the dyno
sheet. It is also on the web page.

The following is a Dyno Sheet from an SCCA Race prepared Mazda MX-3 that

was in our shop about 6 mo ago. after 13 runs he had it tuned the way he

wanted and was ready to leave. Since I had noticed that the Webers were
mounted low (Rotary Eng) and in a direct path from the hot air path from

the radiator, I talked them into running one more pass with the hood
down. (it had been up for all the other runs.) The Blue or top run is
#13, the red or lower run is #14. Run #13 188.4 HP & 127.6 torque, #14
172.7 HP & 118.0 torque. The only difference is we closed the hood, no
other difference.

We see this almost every day, but I chose this one because it was one of

worst examples (%) I could remember. On circle track cars coming into
the shop we put an alumn plate between the top of the rad and the bottom

of the carb to keep the hot air away from the carb intake, it makes
about 10-18hp diff with a 370hp eng.

Anyway thought you-all might be interested.
