Just a few thoughts. Obviously, if I owned a Repco-Brabham, I would be
interested in getting replacement or spare parts. However, I would be
very concerned about "replicas" and "counterfeit" cars. Certainly, once
the engine castings have been made and are readily available there will
be nothing to keep many of those old BOP aluminum engines from becoming
Repco's. Certainly you want to amortize the cost of a project like this
over as many units as possible, but I don't think that the goal is to
create "new" old cars. As an example, we talk about the Lotus 23
convention when 110 of the original 90 cars showed up. I own an Elva Mk
8. There is a company in England, Elva Racing Components who have
remanufactured about every component. However, they won't sell you a
frame unless you can document that you own a genuine car. Now, of
course, that doesn't keep you from building a second car with your new
frame i.e. a duplicate or replica, but at least they are making an
effort towards preserving the original and only the original cars. I
know Crossle are now making replicas of their Sport racer. And, Shelby
giving his blessing to "new" big block Cobras. It is getting harder and
harder to know what is real anymore.

Thanks for tolerating my ramblings
