Sorry about the bandwith for those not interested, but this is such the
ideal camera for in-car applications that I thought it might be of interest
to those on this list.

It is a JVC S-VHS component system. (4 years old, but in very good shape).
Model SCF007U. VHS-C format. $400 obo.

S-VHS ( for comparison: VHS-270 lines per inch, S-VHS 400 lines per inch,
Digital (500 lines per inch) This camera has very good picture quality!

Component. The camera is a separate piece from the deck. Both are very
small. The camera is about 4.5" long with aprox 1.5" diameter so it can be
place ANYWHERE. On a rollbar, in the grill, outside the car, on the dash,
I've even seen one duct taped to someone's helmet! The deck is aprox 5" by
5"

It is attached by a 5 foot cable to a completely soft touch controlled deck
which can be mounted safely out of the way.

Comes with standard RCA and S-Video cables, both in and out; battery,
charger, car adapter, shoulder carrying case, hardshell protective case for
components.

The only thing that is missing (as far as I know) is the video screen. So
you have play it back on the TV

It uses standard S-VHS-C size tapes, so it can be played back either
through the deck component or with a standard tape adapter (not included,
but easy to find )

I have used it with great success and am sad to have to part with it. Too
many gadgets, and not enough track time.

If interested please contact me off-list so as to not clutter up the list.
Again, sorry about the "sales" driven post, but this really is a cool option
for in-car photography.
