The southern part of todays Nürburgring is called "The Grand Prix Circuit"
and has been modified and completely redesigned to what it is today in the
beginning of the 80s - I guess 1982. They also removed the old, wooden
Grandstands back then.
There's almost nothing left neither from what you recall as the southern
circuit ("Betonschleife") nor from the real "Südschleife" which must have
been closed down in the 60s.

We are racing twice a year on the Grand Prix Circuit and we have an
outstanding event in October ("Eifelklassik") with ca. 180 historic GT &
Touring cars doing 13 laps on the complete 25 Km circuit!
Big fun !!
