Subject: Bucklers in Canada
One of the Bucklers imported by Autosport Equipment was raced in the
Canada Class.
(small modified sports cars & purpose built specials, similar to H-mod
in the USA)
It was powered by a Morris 850 cc flathead, I think with an overhead
valve conversion. The car was quite successful winning the Canada Class
championship 2 years running. (maybe 1955,56) It's domination of the
class spawned the V.A.Y. Special that Mike Rosen has perfectly restored
and drives with gusto in VARAC events. The V.A.Y. was C.C. champ after
the Autosport Spl.(57,58 I think) The V.A.Y. was thought to be a
Buckler up until Mike started to research it further as he began it's
