Oops!   I had to dig but:
The 1936 Ferguson "A" tractor had a Coventry-Climax l-head 3.125" x 4" which
developed 20 hp at 2000.  500 motors were built by C-C, then Ferguson bought
the tooling and built 800 more.  There was no electric starter or water pump
fitted to save costs.
