Susan: You are right that there were radials in use in the early sixties. A lot of Italian cars came with Pirelli Cinturatos. Of course Michelin and Continental also had very good radials. I can tell you from experience that they were not very competitive, but people did race on them. There is nothing wrong with Avons. Their 5.0/22x13 and 6.5/23x13 are both on our approved tire list for production cars that they fit. We just don't see a lot of them here. Jack Woehrle SVRA Technical Director |
