I haven't seen any mention of the Wine Country Classic on the digest, so
here goes with a shameless plug. ;=)
This weekend, Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma County, Ca. will host the
Wine Country Classic. This is the "sister" event to the Monterey
Historics. This event will feature a Formula 1 reunion and "cup" race.
There will be practice and qualifying sessions on Saturday, with warmup
and race sessions Sunday. Both days will feature demo and parade laps
of F1 cars around noon. So far, the only racing celebrity confirmed to
attend is Ken Tyrell (sp?). Friday nite there will be a special showing
of the movie "Grand Prix" at the Sebastiani Theater in Sonoma. They
secured a new 70mm print, and the director, John Frankenheimer will
introduce it! The showing is also a benefit for the "Save the
Sebastiani" theater fund. Saturday nite will again feature the Sonoma
Valley Race Car festival in downtown Sonoma. For info call Sears Point

I will be out there campaigning the Bourgeault Formula Junior. While
it's not the fastest Junior out there, it is definitely a crowd-pleaser.
With a mid-mounted Fiat engine, a VW transaxle, and quirky suspension,
it is a unique car. I also have people coming out of the woodwork at
these events who remember the car, or its builder. If you go, stop by
