I'm a newcomer to this net ( just over from British-Cars-Pre-War
@autox.team.net) and although not a racer I am committed to the IMPORTANCE
of this aspect of the sport. I'm an "olde guy" and see from the comments in
the recent dialogue fostered by Jay Nadelson (VintageMG@aol.com) that it is
the OLDER cars and OLDER guys that seem to have the most fun. Thank you
Phillip Buttolph. My interest is focused on the preservation and enjoyment
(read: USE, THRASHING, RACING etc.) of the Pre-War MG cars, and most
specifically the MMMs. Are there any members of the MMM Register on this
vintage-race net?? The few guys that I know that thrash their MMMs in
competition are Watts Hill Jr. with a J2, Curt Liposcack, Mac Reynolds, and
Frank Diaz all with C types, Don Wasserman and Bob Sterling with N variants,
and Pete Thelander with his NE, and I know there are more, (are you there
Greg Prehodka?) What I am aiming to do is be able to publicize to our MMM
Registry, and perhaps others as well the activities and venues of those
actively racing the Pre-War cars. The whole idea is to get more of these cars
out of the baskets and garages that hide them and put them to the use God and
Cecil intended. Any comments most appreciated.
The day is a beauty, and as luck would have it a photog was just by to take
some pictures of my 35PA for Silverado Concours publicity, and since the car
is warm, I'm outahere!
Best wishes, Bill Tantau (bill707@aol.com)
