My first thought was a bulb or lamp.  Several examples without the 
shading at the link below.  The hazard and turn signal bulbs were likely 
candidates based on the partial schematic.

But as I looked over my wiring diagrams, I found one for a 73 TR6 very 
similar to your picture where the indicator lights are more of a bulb 
just off of your picture, so my first thought was wrong. Now I wonder if 
it might indicate a bullet connector.
