I've finagled them off with a pair of vicegrips... er locking pliers.=C2=A0=
Channel-lock... er slip-joint pliers work as well. =C2=A0 Grab it near the=
base and wiggle back and forth and it will ever so slowly work its way out=
.=C2=A0 The pliers will slip off several times but persistance is called fo=
r here.=20
I've also seen caps with a hole drilled in the center where a screw can be =
screwed in and used to pull the cap off.=C2=A0 I've seen others where the s=
crew can be used to push it out against the stub axle.
