That's right! And we all know that batteries are only a fuel tank - they
produce no power on their own except for disposable flashlight batteries.
The real question is where will the electric power come from.

Recent study found that when production is included, EV's, especially long
distance ones, actually have a carbon footprint greater than modern cars.
Making those batteries, at least the current ones, leaves a big footprint.
Battery tech needs to change a lot.
