There is a guy in the St. Louis region, Dennis Wilson (no, not the Beach B=
oy) who raced a TR6 in the late 70's at a time the factory was running a TR=
7 (TR6 was out of production at this time).=C2=A0 He had film footage of a =
race where he was leading a race with a factory Porsche 924 hot on his tail=
.=C2=A0 One lap to go and Dennis lost a section of tire tread and the Porsc=
he slipped by.=C2=A0 The commentary was hilarious.=C2=A0 The play-by-play g=
uys were incredulous that this dowager TR6, a car designed in the 50's, was=
beating Porsche's latest offering.=C2=A0 And he would have had the tire he=
ld together.=20

Also, all the while the factory TR7 was a close third.

I checked You Tube but I could not find that film posted.=C2=A0 But if you =
look up Wilson Motors, that's the guy.
Didn't Paul Newman race a TR6 at one point?=C2=A0 Group 44?
