In all the years I worked at Standard Triumph and later at BMIHT Gaydon, I d=
o not recall ever seeing a gearbox number appearing on a vehicle build recor=
d. That=E2=80=99s not to say they were not recorded somewhere for some purpo=
se but equally, neither were axle numbers.
