There are occasional times in our lives when we meet someone and leave their 
company the?better for having met and known them. I met Fred twice on his 
visits 
to the UK and quite apart from his enthusiasm about so many things, I also 
discovered ar a very early stage that he was a true gentleman. I have a number 
of very specials emails from him and one letter in particular that I will 
always 
treasure.
