Up here in Ontario, they also have a tax grab. Used cars are taxed based
on "book value", except where the car is too old to be in the book and
you are forced to get an appraisal and pay for the higher of the appraisal
or the purchase price. Obviously you get an appraisal before you sink a
lot of $ into a resto.
