Brian, I got an old aircraft clock on eBay and installed it in an old
glovebox door (cutting required). It's pretty cool looking, and has a
rally feel to it, and I put a stop-watch mount next to it. It's a
wind-up "8 day" clock, so just about right for long weekend road trips.
Mine is a Wittnauer brand. Can send photos if you're interested.
