I thank you for the salute!  'Twarn't really nuthin tho'.  That
despicable tendency comes from another email list I participate in
focused on Patrick O'Brian's Master&Commander book series.  Strings of
such atrocities are standard fare, or if you prefer, laissez faire, over
there.  The trick is to ride the edge so that it *might* have been
intentional, then watch the closer-to-the-edge replies.  The good ones
take a second or third reading before you get it.  Great fun!  And come
to think of it, "garnet" wasn't technically a pun, but that doesn't make
it any more despicable!
