Hi Ashley,
The Olyslager TR2/3/3A handbook states:

"Pistons:Aeroflex compensating pistons of aluminium alloy,with two 
compression rings and one oil control ring fitted above the piston 
pin (gudgeon pin).When installing the piston,the T-slot in the piston 
skirt should be facing the camshaft side of the engine"
