I use a Purolator PureONE PL20195 from Pep Boys, though right now I'm
running a K&N HP2009 -- which while different from Pete's K&N HP1002,
cross-ref'd to the Purolator filter I had on the car. I've used the NAPA
Gold 1516 too.

The Purolator and K&N filters are a good bit deeper than the Fram
filters, which might be a good reason to choose them. I went with the
naive consumer approach -- the Purolator, NAPA Gold, and K&N filters
cost more so they must be better. There are arguments either way, but I
generally don't buy the cheapest or the most expensive options for my
TR4. For example, I'm not running Mobil1 synthetic, but then I'm not
running Walmart store brand oil either. :) Depending on where I'm at I buy:

Purolator: Pep Boys etc.
K&N: Autozone, Checkers etc.
NAPA: NAPA
