Rod bolts

I remember hearing that you could buy caterpillar bolts for connecting rods 
and main caps for TR6's.  Supposedly stronger than stock bolts and x-rayed for 
defects.  Any body actually done this or is it a myth?  How about the part 
numbers for the cat bolts?
