Jim,
I would disassemble and pack the TR4 steering rack's 'inner tie rod ends'
with high quality suspension grease. There's no other way I know of. The
greaseable fitting on your pinion housing only hits the pinion and rack and
won't get
inside the ball ends. Your rack boots are critical in keeping the rarely
greased tie rod joints clean and extending lube life.

I've rebuilt (ok, cleaned, measured and reassembled) my TR4's steering
rack. While grease (per original shop manual) seems appropriate for the
gear, what about lubricating the "knuckle" at the rack end of the tie
rod?'K, here's the question: what's the list.consensus for the best way to
lube both the gears and the knuckles?
TIA Jim
