Using TR4 steering arms on TR4A/6 rack for more direct steering?

I read this somewhere on a UK TR message board, and was wondering if anyone 
had done this and/or knows whether or not it works. Evidently using the 
steering arms from an early TR4 (I think it was '61 or '62) on a later rack 
will give 
more direct steering. Anyone else heard this before?
