Hello triumph experts! I just finished installing a D-Type overdrive in my '70
GT6. It is a re-built unit from Rimmer Bros., attached to a rebuilt
transmission with new mainshaft. It works great, for about 6 miles. then the
shifting gets progressivey slower until it won't shift at all and slips. It
seems to be related to the oil, 90 wt. gear oil, and will function exactly the
same after cooling down. I cleaned all relief springs balls, seats, adjusted
the solinoid and verified the lift, changed oil again, even tried manually
operating the lever to open the pump flow to the actuator. The pump works
cause it leaked up top at the copper washer and I had to tighten it. I really
like to tear out everthing to check it, so I'm not going to re-assemble the
tunnel until the #$%^&* thing works for real. Any possible checks or
suggestions? I'm at your mercy! Thanks in advance.
