Hi Dennis,
I added an original Addco sway bar to the front of my car last year. It
was one a friend of mine had among his wealth of parts. It was still in
the original box from the mid seveties.
Anyway I encountered a similar problem on the installation. However, I
was removing another kind of sway bar that had bolt on brackets for
mounts. I was able to modify the old mounts to work on the Addco. I
too believe the bar should move freely.
