Hi Pat :

I've heard of felt seals that are too thick, and bind, giving a false
reading. If you changed the seal at the same time, that might be your
problem.

Otherwise, I don't know what to suggest, except perhaps a damaged spindle.
I found that one spindle on my TR3 was noticeably out of round at the outer
end, enough that the inner race could move several thousandths vertically.
I suppose that if the inner race of the inner bearing were binding on the
spindle, it could also cause a similar problem.

Subject: Wheel Bearing

Hi Randall, I have a problem I need some advice on.

The front left wheel of my 2500M (TR6 stuff) constantly works it's way lose
so there is too much play in the bearing (I can wiggle it way more than is
acceptable). Here is what I have done and some data to chew on:

All new bearings and bearing surfaces less than a year ago
Yes the bearing surfaces are pressed all the way down (seated)
I have tightened up the castle nut as much as I dare so the wheel does not
rotate and loosened it off a bit and pinned it
I have had the rotor turned to ensure it was straight (was out a fair bit)

I can't figure this out... ideas ?

Thanks, Pat
