I'm preparing to return the skid plate I bought from
Moss for my TR4. If anyone on the list was considering
one for their TR3 or 4 (4A's have a different skid) I'll
sell it at a discount to you. This is the factory optional
skid plate that protects the otherwise exposed radiator
and the front end of the oil pan, and I thought it would
be a nice, correct, protection on twisty mountain roads
featuring falling rocks. If you're ready to go on the Great
Race regional you ought to have this on your TR3.
My problem: the skid IS apparently correct as per the
original design documents at ST in the late 50's, but it
seems that my radiator sits too low and forward -- so the
bottom rad tank interferes with the skid reinforcements.
A Moss tech confirmed that it's fitted up fine to other cars,
so I hope it's just me. It won't fit with an alloy sump, though.

($13 +/-) plus tax if in CA or NJ. I'll sell mine for $120
shipping included (continental U.S. ground). I'll also ask for
a return authorization from Moss so that if it doesn't fit your
car you can return it (for me) and I'll refund your money.
About a 20% discount.
I have photos and the original engineering document if
you're curious. PS they no longer supply the captive nut
strips for mounting up, and instead recommend mounting
with separate bolts and nuts. Some Financial Interest. ;-)
