okay the points are now at .015", as per spec. Reset the dizzy to TDC and
advanced it a bit ( no "working" timing light a the moment ), had pinging at
high rpm.  Retarded a bit and now sometimes getting a "misfire" at high rpm.
So I think I am very close now.

Lesson learned here, when all else fails, go back and check everything and
do the basics.  After all, these cars did run for 40+ years before I
tinkered with it :-D
