My engine is currently dangling on an engine stand in my basement.  Put the
engine backing plate (the plate the transmission bolts onto) back onto the block
(7 bolts or so if I remember) and then use 5/16" bolts and nuts (and in my case 
a
stack of fender washers to spread the load) through the transmission mounting
holes.

Rob in Ottawa (all pistons in and camshaft hopefully indexed correctly....)
