Use a LEFT-HANDED drill.  You can buy them at serious tool stores.  The regular
right-handed twist drill will tighten the fitting as you drill.  The vibration
and torque of a left-handed drill (obviously, your drill-press needs to be 
reversible!)
will often remove the part.  At least it won't make matters worse...
