Hi John
Sorry I know not what kidney brakes are, but I know what you mean about the
profanities, I was trying to refit a Herald gearbox on my own one Saturday,
I had been struggling to get the input shaft to align with the clutch, (it
is a bit too heavy to hold up and turn the output flange single handed!) for
half an hour or so, the Jehovah's were out recruiting and they got half way
up the drive and turned round, must have thought I was a lost cause.
I did eventually get the box in, after lifting it in and out of position
more times than I care to recall. A little later in the day, an old Gent
wearing a Trilby hat walked past, paused a moment and said with a broad IOW
accent (similar to a west country accent) "Who ever said owning a car were a
luxury?" and walked away!
One of the high points of the day, gives me a chuckle every time I think
about it!

Graham.

| Does anyone have any experience of adjusting kidney brakes - my
| profanities are beginning to upset old ladies who are near neighbours.
