A few years ago I spent a day getting my 4A ready for a trip to Yosemite. My
brake lights didn't work either. Tore the switch apart. Leaving the next
morning... Checked the wiring diagram. Surprise Brake lights only work with
key on. I hope yours is as simple a fix as mine.
