Right ! You shouldn't use DOT-5 unless you

A. Don't like changing brake fluid every 2 years (as recommended for
conventional fluids in an 'open' system as used on a TR).

B. Don't like having to repaint every time your MC seals start leaking.

C. Don't like having to repair the rust damage caused by the leaking
fluif running into cracks and seams where you can't repaint without
doing a frame-off.

D. Don't like the possibility of accumulated moisture rotting your brake
lines from the inside out during storage.

E. Don't like having to replace master and slave cylinders damaged by
corrosion caused by accumulated moisture.

F. Don't object to paying a little bit more for fluid, in return for
having 1/2 the trouble, and twice the lifetime from all the hydraulic
components.

G. Enjoy worrying about whether the fluid you buy is compatible with
natural rubber British seals. (DOT-5 is harmless to all forms of
rubber)

My "daily driver" still wears a great deal of the original paint in
places like the wheel wells, inside the doors, and under the dash. It's
in great shape almost everywhere, except under the pedal box, which is
coated with rust. I wonder why ...
