Sorry, but I don't have many answers for you right now vacuum lines on your
Mk 3 GT6 -- but I did see from your web pictures that it appears the PO has
fit a Spitfire muffler to your car (hence the one tailpipe, instead of two).
You will likely free up your exhaust train a bit by getting the right
muffler.
I would also say you do have a high compression head and/or block.
Congrats on the car. You'll love it once it's sorted out.
