Hi Huw,
Is this by any chance your Dolomite? DVLA is unable/unwilling to
check from chassis numbers alone. If you've not already done it, try looking
for signs of the registration number etched into any of the windows - this
might have been done as a security measure. A Heritage Certificate will tell
you the name of the dealership which supplied the car, so it may be possible
to track down the registration from that dealer's records, but I think you
would have to be very lucky to find out this way,
