Have to give credit where it is due.  Although the ad ran on 
Australian television for several years, I believe it originated in 
New Zealand.

The ad stopped only when the model was obsolete and they could not 
justify showing it any longer.  It one of those ads that everyone 
remembers, but they cannot remember the product or the brand.  In 
this case people remember just the dog and "bugger", which is now 
understood in Australia to be a word of New Zealand origin.
