Please Help!

I'd like to hear from anyone who has experience in installing a new door
check strap and spring guide in their TR6.

This is an area that Bentley's and Haynes does not cover. To replace the
check strap, just remove the kick panel, drill out the rivet connecting
the check strap to the front door post and replace the strap. No one
mentions the spring guide (only TRF knows about it and carries it) or
where it goes - inside the A post or outside the A post.

Both of mine were installed on the outside of the A post but they were
bent inward because the door connecting ring literally hits the spring
guide when the door is closed. Could it be that the spring guide goes
INSIDE the A post, i.e., installed from inside the kick panel?

I really need help on this one.

Thanks in advance.
